For Misha Sharma Gambhir, Founder of Heartspire Foundation, leadership is not defined by authority or titles but by the ability to create meaningful impact. In this conversation, she shares her perspective on conscious leadership, workplace wellness, and the responsibility leaders have in shaping healthier and more compassionate communities.
As the founder of Heartspire Foundation, Misha Sharma Gambhir has dedicated her work to promoting emotional well-being, meditation, and conscious leadership. Her journey has been shaped by a deep belief that sustainable success is built on people, not just performance metrics. Through her work as a life coach, Heartfulness trainer, and community leader, she has witnessed firsthand how emotional resilience and self-awareness can transform both individuals and organizations.
Her work has also been recognised by the Mastermind Global Awards in both 2025 and 2026.
Her vision extends beyond organizational boundaries, encouraging leaders to create ecosystems where compassion, service, and meaningful impact become defining measures of success.
What core principles guide the way you lead today, and how have they evolved through your experiences?
I lead with empathy, authenticity, service, and continuous learning. Early in my career, I believed leadership was primarily about achieving results. Over time, through my work in mental well-being, coaching, and community service, I learned that lasting success comes from understanding people and helping them grow.
My experiences have shown me that resilience, compassion, and trust are essential leadership strengths. Today, I focus on empowering individuals to discover their own potential while staying grounded in integrity and purpose.
What is a shift or trend in your industry that you believe leaders are still underestimating?
One trend that many leaders continue to underestimate is the direct connection between emotional well-being and organizational performance. While mental health is receiving greater attention, it is often treated as a secondary initiative rather than a strategic priority.
Employees today seek purpose, balance, and psychological safety alongside professional growth. Organizations and leaders who recognize the importance of emotional wellness and human connection will be better positioned to build sustainable and successful organizations in an increasingly demanding and fast-changing world.
How do you see your role as a leader extending beyond your organization in shaping the broader business ecosystem?
I believe leadership extends far beyond organizational boundaries. Through Heartspire Foundation and my work as a Heartfulness trainer and meditation instructor, I strive to promote emotional well-being and conscious leadership within communities and workplaces. Heartfulness has its world headquarters at Kanha Shantivanam in Hyderabad, India, and its approach to meditation and relaxation has deeply shaped my belief in service. For meditation and relaxation techniques, I do not charge any fee, as I see this work as a way of giving back to the community.
I encourage individuals and organizations to prioritize people alongside performance. By sharing knowledge, mentoring others, and supporting community initiatives, I hope to contribute to a culture where success is measured not only by financial outcomes but also by positive social impact. Leaders have the ability to influence healthier, more compassionate ecosystems, and I see that as an important part of my responsibility.
Walk us through a pivotal moment in building your organization, a challenge that, in hindsight, proved to be the making of it.
One of the defining challenges in building Heartspire Foundation was encouraging people to recognize the importance of mental and emotional well-being. Initially, many viewed these programmes as optional rather than essential.
Instead of being discouraged, we remained committed to creating genuine value through accessible and meaningful initiatives. As people began experiencing positive changes in their lives, trust grew naturally. Looking back, that challenge strengthened our purpose and credibility. It taught us patience, perseverance, and the importance of staying committed to a mission even when its value is not immediately recognized by others.
As you look ahead, what is the ambition you are building towards and what would it take for your industry to get there alongside you?
My ambition is to make holistic well-being and meditation more accessible to people across communities, workplaces, and educational institutions. I envision a future where mental wellness practices are integrated into everyday living rather than used only during times of crisis. Achieving this will require collaboration among leaders, educators, healthcare professionals, and policymakers to create supportive systems that prioritize prevention, resilience, and overall well-being.
My journey has reinforced my belief that leadership is ultimately about service, compassion, and creating opportunities for growth. Through the Heartspire Foundation, I remain committed to promoting mental well-being, emotional resilience, meditation, and compassionate leadership.
