Dell Technologies and Armada have signed a strategic MoU to develop mobile and edge data centre solutions in Saudi Arabia, supporting faster access to localised computing, Edge AI and data infrastructure across key industries.
As artificial intelligence moves closer to factories, energy sites and critical infrastructure, the ability to process data where it is generated is becoming increasingly important. In Saudi Arabia, a new technology collaboration is looking to bring that computing capacity closer to businesses and operations across the Kingdom.
Dell Technologies and Armada have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on containerised mobile and edge data centre solutions across Saudi Arabia. The agreement establishes a framework for projects requiring fast and flexible access to localised computing and storage infrastructure.
The MoU was signed during LEAP 2026 in Riyadh by Mohamed Talaat, Vice President, Saudi, Egypt, North Africa & Levant (SENAL) at Dell Technologies, and Rabee El Mohammadi, Vice President, Sales and Partnerships, MEA at Armada.
Bringing Computing Closer to Operations
At the centre of the collaboration is the idea of taking computing infrastructure beyond conventional data centre environments.
Under the MoU, Dell’s enterprise hardware and infrastructure stack is envisaged to be integrated with Armada’s specialised mobile and containerised data centre solutions. The combination is intended to provide infrastructure that can be deployed closer to locations where businesses generate and use their data.
This approach can be particularly relevant for organisations operating across geographically dispersed or resource-constrained environments, where relying exclusively on distant computing infrastructure may not always suit applications requiring rapid data processing.
By positioning computing and storage closer to operations, the initiative is intended to support real-time Edge AI applications, strengthen data sovereignty and help businesses maintain operational continuity in remote environments.
Edge AI Across Key Saudi Industries
The collaboration will focus on sectors including energy, telecommunications, manufacturing and public infrastructure; industries where large volumes of operational data can increasingly be generated outside traditional offices and data centres.
For an industrial facility, for example, edge infrastructure can enable information from equipment and connected systems to be processed closer to where it originates. Similar capabilities can support telecommunications networks, remote energy operations and infrastructure environments.
As AI becomes more deeply integrated into these industries, access to computing capacity at the edge can become an important part of supporting applications that depend on timely processing and localised infrastructure.
Dell and Armada plan to expand their reach to enterprise customers through Dell’s authorised regional channel partner network.
Supporting Saudi Arabia’s Digital Infrastructure
The agreement also reflects the wider development of digital and AI infrastructure across Saudi Arabia.
Mohamed Talaat said the collaboration is intended to expand resilient mobile edge infrastructure in the Kingdom by combining Dell’s hardware stack with Armada’s containerised data centre design. He linked the initiative with supporting enterprises deploying Edge AI and the wider ambitions of Saudi Vision 2030.
Armada’s Rabee El Mohammadi similarly highlighted the potential to deliver computing capabilities directly to field operations, remote assets and critical enterprise environments.
The MoU is significant because it addresses an increasingly important question in the AI infrastructure landscape: where should computing happen?
Cloud and centralised data centres remain important components of digital infrastructure, but the expansion of connected devices, industrial AI and real-time applications is increasing the relevance of computing closer to the source of data.
For Saudi businesses operating across energy, telecommunications, manufacturing and infrastructure, mobile and containerised data centres offer another model for bringing computing resources to locations where permanent conventional facilities may not be practical.
The Dell Technologies – Armada agreement is still an MoU rather than a completed deployment programme, but it establishes a framework through which the two companies intend to pursue high-demand projects across the Kingdom.
As Saudi Arabia continues expanding its digital economy, the collaboration demonstrates how the country’s infrastructure landscape is evolving alongside AI; with computing capacity increasingly moving closer to the industries, assets and operations that generate the data.
