Tensor, a Silicon Valley–based agentic and physical AI company, has received federal approval from the UAE Government’s Regulations Lab (RegLab) to test fully autonomous Level-4 personal vehicles in the United Arab Emirates.

The permit, issued in collaboration with Dubai Roads and Transport Authority and Abu Dhabi Integrated Transport Centre, authorises Tensor to conduct regulated testing across the Emirates. The approval allows the company to further refine its autonomous driving technology under federal safety, governance and compliance frameworks.

The testing programme forms part of Tensor’s broader preparation for commercialisation in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, targeted for 2026. It is designed to support regulatory alignment as the company advances its roadmap toward deploying autonomous personal vehicles in the region.

The approval highlights the UAE’s continued push to enable advanced mobility and artificial intelligence through structured regulatory pathways. RegLab plays a central role in enabling collaboration between government entities and technology companies, supporting innovation while ensuring public safety and regulatory oversight.

Tensor has maintained an active presence in the UAE since September 2025, engaging with policymakers, regulators and industry stakeholders through initiatives linked to autonomous mobility and AI. These include participation in platforms such as the Dubai Future Foundation, the World Governments Summit, DriftX and the Self-Driving Congress in Dubai.

Commenting on the milestone, Hugo Fozzati, Chief Business Officer at Tensor, said the federal approval represents a critical step toward commercialising Level-4 autonomous personal vehicles in the UAE, adding that the company values the collaborative regulatory approach adopted by UAE authorities.

As testing progresses, Tensor said it will continue to work closely with relevant authorities to ensure all activities remain compliant with applicable regulations and safety expectations. The company’s focus during this phase will be on responsible testing, data-driven evaluation and readiness for market deployment.

The development reinforces the UAE’s growing role as a global hub for artificial intelligence, autonomous mobility and regulatory innovation, positioning the country at the forefront of next-generation transport technologies.
